We collect only what is needed to light and show your diya and to run the site safely.
What we store
- The name, pincode, city, dedication and message you type. The name, city, dedication and message are public by design and shown to anyone. Your full pincode is not displayed; it is used to place your diya on the map.
- Payment references (order and payment IDs). Card, UPI and bank details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach us.
- A salted, non-reversible hash of your IP address, the country reported by our CDN, and your language choice, used only to prevent abuse and to show the site in your language.
- Standard analytics (page views, device type, approximate location) if analytics are enabled, via Google Analytics and/or Meta Pixel, which set their own cookies under their own policies.
Cookies
A language-preference cookie, an admin session cookie for our staff, and analytics cookies if enabled. No advertising cookies of our own.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with our payment processor, hosting and CDN providers, and analytics providers, as needed to run the site, and where required by law. Public diyas are, by design, visible to anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines.
Retention
Public diyas remain until the site is taken down or you ask us to remove yours. Payment records are kept as required by law and our payment processor. Abandoned, unpaid entries are deleted within 3 days.
Your rights
To correct or remove your diya's name or message, email hello@digidiwali.com with the diya link. We respond within 7 days. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
